Listening and acceptance is where we begin. Too often the “expert” provider, no matter how well-intentioned, can get in the way of a person’s own understanding of what they need.

Whether the conversation takes place with an individual or an organization’s team, I start from the foundation of Motivational Interviewing, which creates an atmosphere of partnership, acceptance, and compassion for the challenges inherent in changing, while also evoking and guiding the process.
